Join us in our continued search of innovative ways to build and strengthen dance audiences by further supporting artists/directors, as they introduce traditional folk dance into contemporary choreography

The Miguel Delgado Dance Foundation (MDDF), will stage the first Southern California Folklorico Dance Flash Mob in commemoration of Latino Heritage month, at downtown L.A. Union Station on Friday, August 29th, 7:00 PM. Over 75 Mexican folk dancers from across the city of Los Angeles, and Orange County will convene in the waiting rooms of Union Station. Dancers will perform Miguel Delgado's choreography of El Torito Jarocho, a style of dance and music from the south of Mexico, originating from the State of Veracruz.

Mr. Delgado, was presented with the Folklorista Award for "Breakthrough Dancer," by Foklorista USA, Inc.. For this special event, a restaging of Miguels' choreography for El Torito Jarocho was set on alumni dancers of Teatro Mexicano de Danza.

This event took place at Plaza De La Raza, at which time MDDF presented Plaza with monies collected in 2010! Niece Lauren Delgado, accepted Miguel's award, as brothers along with close relations teared, cheered, and laughed the evening away.
